“I’m On A Dirt Road is a song that was written at the cabin like so many other songs that I’ve written. And same crew as Heartbreak Highway. I wrote it with Brent Anderson, Hunter Phelps and Jake Mitchell. I think Hunter had this idea. Hunter and Brent talked about this idea before we even got to the cabin that trip. And they kind of had it mapped out a little bit how they wanted to write it. And we wrote the song at about one in the morning. And it’s one of my favorite songs that I’ve written this year and I’m looking forward to y’all hearing it.”

“Hey it’s Jameson Rodgers and this is my song Heartbreak Highway.”
“Heartbreak Highway is a song I wrote at the cabin that I go to every January with some of my best friends. I wrote it with Hunter Phelps, Brent Anderson and Jake Mitchell. It was a title I had in my phone. I wish I could remember what made me write that title down, but I had it in my phone and it was an interesting title. And I was even thinking like, man, you could name a tour this, you could name an album Heartbreak Highway. And had really no idea behind the song other than the title. And I get to the cabin, Brent picks up, he brought this crazy guitar. It’s called a a G Bender, guitar. And he had never brought it and it just had had some magic to it that that day. And Brent just immediately picked it up and played that lick that you hear in the song and I was like, man, we should write a song called Heartbreak Highway over this rock and roll groove. And a couple hours later, we had it. So that’s the story behind it.“
