So I haven’t been this surprised ever. Like I’ve literally never even had a surprise birthday party, nothing in my entire life. And so my fiancé now, she got payback on me, she knew all about it. So I put together this softball team, I don’t know if y’all have seen this, but I asked a bunch of these artists to play softball on Monday nights. I mean when is the next time we’re all going to get to play softball together. So we go and play, it’s a blast. Anyway, we show up to the game, Sarah’s like, we should go and drink a beer with Hardy and Hunter (Phelps) before the game this time, just go there an hour early and hang out. And I was like, yeah that sounds fun. And so we pull up, not thinking anything about it, and I see my booking agent standing behind a vehicle, kind of in the grass or whatever, and I was like, why is my booking agent from CAA at this softball game, this is the most random thing in the world. And then I start noticing a few other people from Sony and management, and I was like man, something’s up. And so I walk over- anyway, they presented me the plaque to me that night, it was a… We lost the softball game, which was unfortunate, kind of ruined an epic night, but you know, all good.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – River House Artists/Columbia Nashville breakout singer/songwriter Jameson Rodgers is celebrating his first RIAA GOLD-certified single as an artist, as his debut single “Some Girls” has reached sales exceeding 500,000 units.

“This song has changed my life,” said Rodgers. “It was the best surprise I’ve had in a long time last night at our softball game. My work family, who I haven’t seen in six months, surprised us with the certified-GOLD record plaques. I can’t imagine a better team to be on this journey with. I’m looking forward to seeing where else this road leads and much better days ahead.”

Rodgers was surprised with the news, along with songwriters HARDY, Jake Mitchell, and C.J. Solar, Monday evening by label, publishing, and management executives.

“Some Girls” has been steadily climbing at country radio, currently within the Top 5 on both Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase/Country Aircheck charts. Rodgers is the first solo male debut artist to have his first single enter the Top 10 in 2020. The track has earned nearly 100 million on-demand streams, and has been lauded as “a mix of masculine rock grit, country storytelling, quick-hitting vocals and tasty electro-pop accents,” (Rolling Stone) earning Rodgers a reputation as “a newcomer to watch in 2020” (Taste of Country).

Rodgers – who received the MusicRow 2020 Robert K. Oermann Discovery Artist of the Year Award – has previously earned Platinum certifications as a songwriter, co-penning hits for Florida Georgia Line (Top 10 “Talk You Out Of It”) and Chris Lane (No. 1 “I Don’t Know About You”). He’s also a co-writer on the title track of Luke Bryan’s most recent album Born Here Live Here Die Here and “Camouflage Hat” from Jason Aldean’s latest release 9
