JAKE OWEN: Living the Dream

Jake Owen is gearing up for a great 2009, and his fall is off to a pretty good start, as well. So far, he’s up for his first CMA Award — for Musical Event of the Year for “Life in a Northern Town” with Sugarland and Little Big Town — and he’s hot on the charts with his latest single, “Don’t Think I Can’t Love You,” from his upcoming album. And…he’s co-hosting the daily, five-minute online series, The Countdown to Country Music’s Biggest Night, spotlighting all the excitement behind the scenes at the CMA Awards, along with fellow co-hosts Chuck Wicks and former Miss Tennessee, Ashley Eicher. Add in the hits from Jake’s first album, big tours, and all that he’s accomplished since his career began…and it’s a lot to take in. “I still pinch myself,” he says, “and think that wasn’t that long ago I was sittin’ on a bar stool in college, dreaming of one day attending an award show.” Check out www.abc.com for a daily dose of interviews and stars, with new episodes of The Countdown to Country Music’s Biggest Night online every day now through a post-CMA wrap-up on November 13th! JAKE OWEN: Living the Dream  Jake Owen says it’s hard to believe everything that’s happened in his career in such a short time. (:19)
“It’s only been a few years. I still pinch myself and think that wasn’t that long ago I was sittin’ on a bar stool in college, dreaming of one day attending an award show, much less being nominated for one. But there’s been a lot of things that have happened in the last few years that I thank the good Lord I had a camara for (laughs).”
