Jake Owen is healing nicely after a good-time go-kart race with NASCAR drivers Kevin Harvick and Clint Bowyer sent him to the hospital this past weekend, but after that and last year’s broken collarbone from a snowboarding accident, we can only hope that Jake’s daughter Pearl will keep her dad’s habitual spirit of fun and adventure, but with fewer accidents! • On Tuesday, Jake tweeted a photo of his bandaged hand with the note, “Headed in for surgery… I was trying to avoid it, but since I play guitar for a living I need to get this done. — Btw..There’s no way I’d miss the chance to play @countryconcert or Fenway Park this weekend. I won’t let y’all down.” In a follow-up on Wednesday, Jake tweeted, “Surgery went well yesterday. On the mend. Currently pain pill tweeting. Might have to sit on a stool 4 shows this wk but ill be there!!”

• Earlier today, Jake was among those tweeting their support for the hospitalized Randy Travis, as Jake offered, “Before I lay my head down tonight I’m saying a prayer for @randytravis. One of the greatest singers to ever grace our ears. Amen.”
