JAKE OWEN: Car Tunes

When it comes to his latest hit, “Eight Second Ride,” Jake Owen wrote the song with one thing in mind: to create a record that would be an energy-packed, feel-good record…and based on what people keep telling him, he’s hit a homerun. Jake envisioned it as something that would sound amazing cranked up loud in his truck, and from adults to kids, the song is really connecting. Jake says, “Moms come to me and say, ‘That “Eight Second Ride” song is the only song that I ever get my kids, they want to hear it when we get in the car ’cause they want to sing along to “Hey, boy,”‘ and that was exactly what it was for.” (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

“That song is a song for me that I can turn up loud in my truck or whatever with my buddies and go rollin’ down the road and just feel the air comin’ through the windows and all of us not even really be sayin’ anything other than singin’ along to the song. And so many people come to me, and…unanimously they come to me…and they’re like, ‘”Eight Second Ride” is the best song, man, that we’ve heard in a long time. Me and my buddies get together and we rock it out,’ or I have moms come to me and say, ‘That “Eight Second Ride” song is the only song that I ever get my kids, they want to hear it when we get in the car ’cause they want to sing along to “Hey, boy,”‘ and that was exactly what it was for.”
