“Yeah, so I found that song a close friend of mine wrote this. This is a song written by Brett Tyler. And then obviously there’s two other prolific writers on this song Kelly Archer and Morgan Wallen, and I found this through my team, really, I was just kind of at the beginning of assembling my team of management and I had a publisher and this was a song that my publishers I think used to own and they sold the catalog, but they were aware of the song because of it. And then obviously, my friend Brett, they kind of all made me aware of it and just felt like you know that it would fit my brand and they’d seen the live show and if you come see our live show, it’s very energetic. It’s kind of this throwback rock and roll Americana spirit show. Think Bruce Springsteen, it’s very all American rock and roll country. And they just felt like this song would be a perfect fit for the record. And yeah, I mean, I take a lot of pride in writing songs. And that’s what I mean, I moved to Nashville at 17 and started writing and I ended up writing. I’ve written number ones in Texas for some of my friends. And I take great pride in that. But also, some of my heroes, the Dean Dillon’s and George Straits, and I mean, those guys, the healthiest writing community is when the best song wins, regardless of who wrote it. And as a writer, I always kind of got a little frustrated that I felt like my songs weren’t getting the time of day, because the artists weren’t in the room with me. And they got to write everything. And I made a pact when I was a staff songwriter, that if I ever got the chance to really be a full blown artist, that I was going to make sure that I was different in that way. And that real great songwriters, their songs would get a shot on my record. And that doesn’t mean they’ll make the record. But if they’re better than one I wrote, it’s going on the record. And so that was the case with this song. It was a great song it deserved to see the light of day I wish I would have wrote it, but I didn’t. And here we are, and it’s I’m glad that we recorded it and you know what’s even cooler than winning and having a hit is winning and having a hit with friends.”
