Chris has made a promise that, if his fans vote “Gettin’ You Home” as the Breakthrough Video of the Year, he’ll perform a special live online concert! During the live event, Chris says he’ll take questions, play requests, and you can count on a few surprises, too. • “Gettin’ You Home” was Chris Young’s first number-one song, and now the follow-up hit, “The Man I Want to Be,” is looking to make it two number-ones for Chris as it’s knocking on the door of the top spot on the charts.

“I’m really excited about it. This is actually my first nomination for a CMT Award. So this is the first time that I’ve ever been, you know, kind of in the running to be nominated on the show, and it’s pretty exciting. I mean, because this is a whole different medium than what I’m used to. I mean, you know, I’ve been nominated as an artist, and usually that’s from your album and the song, and this is from that, too, but it’s also, you know, about the video that you did for the song.”

“I was trying to come up with something, you know, as a way to give back for everybody that’s, you know, spending their time tracking me down on the Internet, and clicking on ‘Vote for me’ and telling other people to vote for me, and it’s just a…you know, it means a lot to me as an artist, and I really wanted to show that to people. I’ve said it a lot, and this is kinda a cool way for me to go, ‘Hey, thank you.’”

“Evidently, the secret to getting nominated in this category is if you put a hot chick in a bathtub. If half of your video is a very attractive woman in a bathtub, you will get nominated for this video.” (laughs)

  Chris can promise his fans there is something he will never do in one of his videos. (:11)
“I absolutely promise that if I win, I will never appear in a video in the bathtub. You never have to worry about me being in the bathtub in the video.” (laughs)
