Come this Tuesday morning, September 17th, Chris Young fans can wake up to the release of his new album, titled A.M. — it’s Chris’ fourth album and home to his latest hit single, “Aw Naw,” and Chris says he’s in a really good place these days, not only because of his ever-growing list of hits and legion of fans, but also because of the simple reason that he’s truly living his dream. “I don’t want to say it every time, like, ‘Ahh, it’s a big deal, another record!’ But you know, it is. It’s what I grew up wantin’ to do, from the time I was a little kid on. And so it’s not only an accomplishment in me moving forward and continuing to grow by making another record and putting new music out there, but it’s also a…you know, it’s still livin’ that dream that I had when I was a kid. So it’s fun.”

  Chris Young says that looking ahead is part of every new album. (:17)
“I think that there are things that are different every project, so that’s why it never really gets…you know, if anybody says, ‘Wow, that was really easy,’ I would be (laughs), I would be shocked because you’ve got to think about so many things and kind of project forward not just where you are now, but what you want to do.”

  Chris Young reflects on one of the cool things to him about the release of A.M., his fourth album. (:25)
“I’m just pretty happy right now. You know, everybody’s askin’, ‘What’s different about this record? What do you think about this single? It’s a little bit different,’ and ‘What makes this album stand out?’ And at the same time as you’re answerin’ all that stuff, one of the coolest things about this is, you know, I’m still on RCA, after eight years. Still gettin’ to make records, and that’s a big accomplishment, so it’s definitely a…kind of a time to stop and go, ‘Man, this is pretty awesome that I’ve gotten four records under my belt.'”

“It was a big deal. It was one of the reasons why I was so excited that I was gettin’ signed in the first place is where I was gettin’ signed. You know, it wasn’t like I was just signing at any label, but it’s one that’s a heritage label. It’s been around for a long time. A lot of people have been on this label that had huge, lasting impacts. You can walk up and down the hall and see, you know, all the Platinum records and the Gold records, and a lot of my influences were on RCA. So, it’s just fun bein’ still here (laughs) for at least one more record! I’m still here!”

  Chris Young says that he’s been holding off on teasing his fans with his new music. (:25)
“You know what’s funny is I haven’t added any of the new stuff to my show yet. The only two songs I’m playin’: I’m playin’ the title cut, because people can download it, and the single, because that’s out there. And the reason I do that is…you know, I could play a whole bunch of stuff off the record, and I really want to, but until the record comes out, I feel like it’s like kind of a tease. You’re like (laughs), ‘Hey, here’s a bunch of stuff that you can’t go buy yet!'”
