CHRIS YOUNG: Making the Connection

Chris Young is ready to release his second album in just a few weeks, and although it hasn’t been all that long that he’s been making records, his music has definitely been making a connection with the fans. Chris says it always blows his mind whenever someone tells him how one of his songs has stirred a memory or has a special meaning in their life. “Things like that just really humble you,” he says. Chris had a hand in writing three of the songs on his upcoming album, but the comments from fans mean a lot to him whether he’s the writer, the singer, or both. He feels that “part of what bein’ an artist is all about” is finding songs that relate in a way “that people can hear that and connect with your music.” (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

CHRIS YOUNG: Making the Connection  Chris Young says he’s always humbled when fans tell him how his music affects them. (:35)
“It still gets to me when people come up and say, ‘Hey, when you sang this, I thought about what my mom used to tell me when I was a kid,’ or ‘When you sang this, I thought about this relationship I was in with, you know, my ex.’ And things like that just really humble you as an artist because it just blows my mind, still, every time somebody comes up and says anything about a song that I wrote or a song that I sing that, you know, it touches them and made them think of somethin’ and just kind of took them to a different place for a little while. I think that’s part of what, you know, bein’ an artist is all about…that people can hear that and connect with your music.”
