After recently returning from an overseas tour that took him to Australia, South Korea, and Japan, Chris Young is back in the states, red-hot on the radio with his smash, “Lonely Eyes,” and back in the studio working on the follow-up to his hit-filled A.M. album. And when it comes to making a new album, it’s always an exciting time, but Chris says that he likes to step away from the music once it’s done so that he can come back and listen again with fresh ears. • “Lonely Eyes” is the latest smash from Chris’ A.M. album, which also includes the hit title track and the number-one smash, “Who I Am with You.”

  Chris Young says that he likes to take a breather from a new album once it’s finished. (:38)
“I kind of get away from it for a while. I’ll have one or two songs that, you know, that I’m playing for people to kind of tease the record for them before everybody can have a copy of it, but other than that, I don’t listen to it for a while just because I’ve listened to it so much in the process of tweaking it and goin’, ‘Ooh, remember that third dobro part that was on song four at, like, a minute and a half in, can we swap that out for the second part because I think that the third part played somethin’ that didn’t clash with the guitar….’ You know, you’ve just done so much of that stuff that you’re like, ‘Okay, it’s done.’ It’s done, and I’m just gonna get away from it for a little while, and then come back to it fresh and enjoy it.”
