CHRIS YOUNG: ACM Album and Single Record Nominee!

audio

Well-earned congratulations go out to Chris Young, who scored four ACM Awards nominations this week, including double nominations as artist and producer in two categories: Single Record of the Year for his three-week number-one smash, “I’m Comin’ Over,” and the very cool Album of the Year category, where Chris is up for his I’m Comin’ Over album, which is also the first one that Chris co-produced. And when it came out, Chris told us that he wanted to take a fresh approach in the making of his fifth album. (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

  • In response to his ACM nominations, Chris said in a press release, “It’s all really surreal. This is the first time that me and my co-producer Corey Crowder got together in the studio. When we wrote ‘I’m Comin’ Over’ with Josh Hoge we thought we had something really special with the song and the whole record — it’s my first nomination as a producer in any category and as an artist to have your name up there for album of the year and single of the year, it’s pretty dang amazing!”
    — The 51st Academy of Country Music Awards will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 3rd, at 8pm ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network.
  • Chris is currently soaring up the charts with “Think of You,” his hot new duet with his tour special guest Cassadee Pope! It’s the second hit from Chris’ chart-topping ACM Album of the Year nominee, I’m Comin’ Over.
  • Chris and Cassadee recently debuted their music video for “Think of You,” which was filmed at Nashville, Tennessee’s Sambuca Restaurant and Hermitage Café. Take a look below!
  • In honor of Super Bowl week, Chris and Cassadee sat down on camera to talk a little football, with “Part 1” on Chris’ Facebook page here!

audio  Chris Young says that his I’m Comin’ Over album represents a creative step forward for him. (:22)
“I just feel like this record was a time for me to take a step forward. It was a time for it to be different, and change stuff. I don’t think anything that we changed on this record was just for the sake of change, goin’, ‘Man, we gotta do something different.’ It was, ‘Man, it feels like it’s time to do this, to take this step.’ Everything just kind of naturally went where it was supposed to go.”
