CHASE RICE: Speaking Loud With A Whisper

audio

After the success of “Ready Set Roll” and “Gonna Wanna Tonight,” Chase Rice is bringing fans his next single, called “Whisper.” Chase starts the song with a “shhh” sound, that he says wasn’t really planned until he got in the recording studio. Chase was working on the song with it’s co-writer and producer Chris DeStefano, when the idea came to him, to quiet things down before the progression of the song built things up. Chase thinks the “shhh” sound is the perfect way to start the song.

audio  Chase Rice shares where the “shhh” at the start of “Whisper” came from. (:34)
“We were in the studio, DeStefano and I, working on ‘Whisper’ and I was doing a vocal, and just running through, doing a bunch of different vocals…trying to get my best work on the record. And when the music started, my first thought was just ‘shhh’ and it was just like, whisper. Just shhh, whisper. Don’t talk so loud. And that is what the song is, just kind of let’s see what can start with a whisper. And if you listen to the progression of the song, it’s a couple together and they’re getting hot and steamy, but it all starts with a whisper. The perfect way to start the song was just shhh.”
