Chase Rice is very passionate about football, and can’t just sit back and watch a game. Chase says that as a former college player, that he watches football probably a little different than most people, “I’m sitting there watching a game, and I’m sitting there calling the plays that are going to happen before the plays actually happen.” And of course, like every good fan, he makes the experience interactive, “I’m sitting there calling the plays, calling the defenses while I’m watching the game, and yelling at the coaches ‘don’t do it, don’t call a timeout right there.’ Or whatever I’m yelling.” Football is so important to Chase that he admits “The only thing rivals music for me is football.” And what would happen if he could trade the stage for football pads…”I gotta be honest, I don’t know…if I had the opportunity to go play in the NFL right now I don’t know if I’d turn that down. Then I could come back to music later, you know…that would be easy.” Well, while he’s waiting for the NFL to call Chase Rice is scoring with his new single “Everybody We Know Does.”
Chase Rice talks about his love of football, and how it affects the way he watches the game. (:46)
“I’m sitting there watching a game, and I’m sitting there calling the plays that are going to happen before the plays actually happen. That was my biggest thing that I had in college. I was 230 pounds, I wasn’t the biggest linebacker, I wasn’t the fastest but I was pretty fast…speed, you know was my advantage, but my biggest advantage was my brain. I could sit there, I watched a lot of film, I put a lot of time into the game. I tried to know where the ball was going before anybody else did, and that’s why I became such a good player in college before I got hurt. I’m sitting there watching, and I can’t just watch a football game and have fun. I’m sitting there calling the plays, calling the defenses while I’m watching the game, and yelling at the coaches ‘don’t do it, don’t call a timeout right there.’ Or whatever I’m yelling…but, I’m very passionate about football. The only thing rivals music for me is football.”
