CARRIE UNDERWOOD: Songs I’d Like to Hear

Carrie Underwood says she takes a fairly straightforward approach to choosing the songs she wants to record. And the bottom line barometer — it’s her! Carrie tells us she tries to pick songs — like her current smash, “I Told You So” — that she’d enjoy hearing if they were playing on her car radio. She’s had a solid track record of hits, so she must be doing something right, but Carrie laughs that she’ll always cross her fingers in hopes “that a lot of other people kind of maybe have the same taste that I do.” (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

  • Carrie has loved “I Told You So” for years…and in a bit of song trivia, it’s the only one of Randy Travis‘ chart-toppers on which he was the sole writer!
  • Look for Carrie’s recording of “I Told You So” on her Carnival Ride album, alongside such hits as “All-American Girl,” “So Small,” “Last Name,” and “Just a Dream.”

CARRIE UNDERWOOD: Songs I’d Like to Hear  So how does Carrie Underwood choose songs to record? (:16)
“I just pick songs that I like (laughs)…that I would like to hear, you know, if it were just me drivin’ down the road listenin’ to the radio in my car. I pick songs like that and just kind of cross my fingers that a lot of other people (laughs) kind of maybe have the same taste that I do.”
