CARRIE UNDERWOOD: Ringing in the Best Album of the 2000s

Double congrats goes out to Carrie Underwood! First, for her recent engagement to her hockey player boyfriend Mike Fisher, and second, for her debut album, Some Hearts, being named Billboard magazine’s Top Country Album of the Decade. Also included in Billboard’s year-end special double issue is the acknowledgement that her feisty smash, “Before He Cheats” (#8), is the only female showing in the Top 20 Hot Country Songs of the Decade.

  • To date, Carrie has sold more than 11 million copies of her 2005 debut, Some Hearts, 2007’s Carnival Ride, and her latest release, Play On
  • Earlier this year, Carrie became the first country artist in history and the only American Idol winner ever to achieve ten #1 singles from their first two albums. When “Cowboy Casanova,” the debut single from Play On, recently achieved #1, Carrie’s string of #1s increased to eleven.
  • Carrie performs her latest single from Play On, “Temporary Home,” Wednesday night (December 23rd) on CBS’ holiday special, A Home for the Holidays with Faith Hill.
