CARRIE UNDERWOOD: Let’s Rewind…

Carrie Underwood may be at a very happy point in her love life, with her engagement to fiancé Mike Fisher, but Carrie’s latest hit single, “Undo It,” doesn’t take quite such a happy perspective on love. When Carrie talked with us about the song, she admitted that it’s a little harsh in its portrayal of love gone wrong. More than just a sorry-it-didn’t-work-out parting, the character in the song is basically saying “I wish I hadn’t met you,” as Carrie laughs, “That’s horrible…it’s so mean.” (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

  • “Undo It” is the latest blockbuster from Carrie’s Play On collection, which already features a pair of chart-toppers with “Cowboy Casanova” and “Temporary Home.”
  • Look for Carrie on the cover of USA Weekend this Sunday, June 6, as the issue spotlights next week’s 2010 CMT Music Awards, where Carrie will perform, as well as being in the running for three awards: Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year — both for “Cowboy Casanova” — and CMT Performance of the Year for “Temporary Home,” from her CMT special, Invitation Only: Carrie Underwood. The fan-voted awards — with voting still underway at vote.CMT.com — will air live from Nashville on Wednesday, June 9th, at 8pm, ET, on CMT and CMT.com.

CARRIE UNDERWOOD: Let’s Rewind…  Carrie Underwood laughs that her latest hit, “Undo It,” isn’t one of the kinder ways to look back on a relationship gone wrong. (:39)
“‘Undo It’ is about…it’s kind of mean in the fact that you’re telling this person that you wish you’d never met them. Like, that’s mean. I wish I had never met you. My life was so much better before you. And I wish that I could take all of that back. And ‘Undo It’ is just kind of…it’s one of those…we’ve all had stupid relationships, and you’re like, I wasted my time, you know, they wasted their time. This was not worth it, and I’d give anything to just go back and have that back, and you know, my life would have been easier if you hadn’t been in it. (laughs) That’s horrible…it’s so mean.”
