Carrie Underwood is set to release her first-ever concert DVD this coming Tuesday, August 13th! The Blown Away Tour: LIVE was filmed earlier this year and features more than 100 minutes of performance footage with live versions of hits like “Before He Cheats” and “Blown Away,” as well as Carrie’s current smash, “See You Again.” But whether or not you got to see Carrie on the tour, she hopes that the DVD will really help capture a sense of what being there was like — minus the traffic! “We were never really planning to do a DVD. We always tape things; we always get things on film because I feel like as your career goes, it’s fun to look back on things or fun to draw on inspiration from stuff you’ve already done, and you can build off that, and it’s important for one’s career to have those things in the archives. But I had so many people asking me for one, and I have for the past few years. You know, people just kind of want that ultimate memorabilia thing to take home with them so they can re-live that concert or concerts that they came to. So, we just decided, ‘Well, we might as well!’ We had a lot of, you know, behind-the-scenes footage and a lot of things about preparing for the tour. And in the end, I’m really happy with the way it turned out, and I do feel like the people that came to a show or multiple shows really can re-live it at home. But also people that didn’t get to come out, you know? They can sit in their living rooms, they can turn the volume way up, grab some popcorn — you’re in the comforts of your own home. You’re not in, like, a little hard chair that’s sitting out in the audience in an arena. No traffic! It’s gonna be awesome. Hopefully, they’ll really get a sense of what being at the show was like, and live it with us.”

“I had a lot of fun, special moments when we were on the Blown Away Tour. It’s hard when someone asks you what your favorite moment was because there were, I mean, literally, so many, and there’s even ones that I’ll see pictures and be like, ‘Oh, my gosh, I forgot that even happened, for a second,’ because there were so many shows. One I think a lot of people got out of it, as well as me, that was a special moment for me was when I gave a young man his first kiss, on stage. That one was pretty cool. I spotted him in the audience and his sign. I mean, come on, this is like the smartest kid in the universe. He had a sign that said, ‘Will you be my first kiss?’ He was in, like, the third row, and how could I pass that up? So I brought him on stage, and I assumed I was gonna kiss him on the cheek, but nope. He went for the lips, and I complied. And after that night, I called my husband. I was like, ‘I kissed another man tonight.’ Of course, when he found out, he laughed and thought it was…the guy was smart. The boy was smart. So that was a special moment for me. Being able to donate a lot of money and work with the Red Cross throughout the entire Blown Away Tour, that was really amazing, too. And I feel like the people in the audience…because one dollar, you know, per ticket went to — from everybody that attended one of our shows — went to the Red Cross. And I felt like they felt really proud to be part of that, too. Every night when I got to explain what we were doing, you could tell, people were like, ‘Well, we’re doin’ good, and we’re just hangin’ out at a concert.’ So that was really special, too, being able to be a part of that.”
