CARRIE UNDERWOOD: A Musical Wavelength  Carrie Underwood says that her mind operates on a musical wavelength. (1:08)
“I think I would have found the radio if nobody had ever turned it on and nobody in my family listened to the radio or…I don’t know. Like, growing up, we didn’t have cable, we didn’t have any satellite or anything. We had five channels, right? And they were all horrible. They were all, like, old-people programming, so I didn’t want anything to do with those! (laughs) I listened to the radio, and if I was outside playin’, I’d bring our little, like, boom-boxy thing outside and like, play with my dog and listen to the radio. I have a brain for music. I remember commercials from when I was in kindergarten, I remember songs — if I listened to them, like, twice, I remember most of the lyrics. I got it. That’s the part of my brain that works. I would have found it. I would have found music. Can’t do math, can’t do science, there’s certain things — I cannot find my way home, I can’t point northeast, southwest…I don’t know where anything is. I can find my way to the grocery store and most of the time the mall, but sometimes that’s an issue. I don’t know, that’s where my brain is. It’s the part that lights up when…I’m sure if you could put those little electrodes on my brain and figure it out, that’s what would light up. I would have found my way.”
