CARRIE UNDERWOOD: A Musical Ride

audio

The fourth single from Carrie Underwood‘s album, Storyteller is continuing to climb the charts. “Dirty Laundry” is just one of the many stories that Storyteller tells. Carrie tries to cover a range of themes and musical styles on her album. Carrie says that she tries to make an album that allows the listener to “go on a ride and explore.” She also loves “covering as much ground” as she can musically, but all the while making sure that her songs on an album, like her number-one hits “Smoke Break,” “Heartbeat,” “Church Bells,” and now her latest single “Dirty Laundry” all share one thing in common…they all tell a story that fans want to hear. The new CMA Female Vocalist Of The Year might be onto something there, since fans are showing up and loving her music at every stop on the Storyteller tour. audio  Carrie Underwood says that her albums, like Storyteller have a lot to offer listeners. (:49)
“I love making an album that I feel like is just full of single potential songs. I love covering as much ground as I possibly can in an album. I as a fan of music don’t wanna put a CD in or play an album from start to finish and hear the same song over and over again. I want to be able to go on a ride and explore and I do feel like the storytelling aspect is something that all the songs kind a have that thread in common. I do hope that people will not just go and listen to the singles… I think that’s great if they’re in to anything I’m doing…but, it’s always a hope when I make an album that I make an album full of…just, track after track that people love. So, I would definitely encourage people to kind of give the rest of the album a listen as well because there’s a lot of different sounds and themes going on in the album.”
