Cam‘s latest song “Mayday,” which is climbing the charts, recently had it’s video premiere, she’s heading back to the Grand Ole Opry next week (almost to the day that she made her debut on the Opry stage last year), and going into next month’s CMT Awards, Cam is tied with Carrie Underwood at 3 nods for the most female nominations off the night. With all this success, Cam knows who to go to, to keep her grounded…her family. Her family is proud of Cam, but reminds her that success isn’t everything.

“My mom is really proud of it, but also my family is very good at being grounded you know they’re excited but obviously that isn’t who you are and that isn’t everything you are, so they do a good balance of being excited, and also being like you’re still you. (laugh)”
