Cam Visits NBC's Today Show

Pictured on set at Cam’s debut on NBC’s Today show (l-r):  Today’s Willie Geist and Hoda Kotb, Cam, and Today’s Natalie Morales.

Congratulations to Cam, whose “Burning House” has been named number-one on Rolling Stone Country’s “25 Best Country Songs of 2015”! Cam performed the song earlier this week on NBC’s Today show, where she was surprised with a plaque recognizing that “Burning House” has now shot past Gold to be certified Platinum! The song continues to be one of the hottest hits — no pun intended — at country radio, but Cam admits that she still feels a little funny about hearing herself on the airwaves. (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

  • “Burning House” is one of 11 songs co-written by Cam and featured on her brand-new album, Untamed. Look for it at your favorite music seller, including Apple Music.
  • Just released last Friday, Cam’s Untamed album has been pulling in great reviews from The New York Times, the Associated Press, Entertainment Weekly, and many more, including The Washington Post, which calls Untamed “one of the year’s strongest country albums”!
  • In case you missed it, you can see Cam’s Today show interview and performance on Today.com!
  • After an incredibly busy year, Cam is looking forward to spending Christmas in her native California. (AUDIO INFO BELOW)
  • When it comes to airport delays — at the holidays or anytime — Cam says she likes to use the time to sleep, enjoy podcasts, or read, but her favorite thing to do is to shop for music. (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

“I kind of get embarrassed sometimes when I hear my voice (laughs) on the radio ’cause I think, ‘Gosh, everyone must be able to hear the difference between me and all the famous people.’ Like, ‘Here’s that really different song.’ And it is a really different song (laughs), and I think that’s part of probably why it is something special to people because it’s so different.”

“Christmastime we’re gonna be in Southern California, which is where most of my family is, and also my fiancé’s family is from Southern California, so this is gonna be our first Christmas, combined families. So, we’re gonna have, like, a dinner and — they know each other, but just having more time to spend together, and sometimes when everybody’s meeting each other, you feel like you have to play host a lot more, but everybody gets along, which makes me so happy.”

“It’s kind of nice when you have a delay, you can actually get into a full album, instead of saying, ‘Oh, I like this one song, and I’m just gonna get this one song,’ you think, ‘Okay, I’ve got, like, 30, 40 minutes; I can actually listen to a full album and give it a shot,’ which is…I think that’s how music, you know…it’s really fun to be able to digest it in one big conceptual thing all together.”
