CAM: It’s Surreal For Real

audio

It was a week ago that Cam had the opportunity to announce the finalist for this year’s CMA Awards with Keith Urban and Dierks Bentley on Good Morning America from the stage of the Grand Ole Opry. Not only did she announce names, but she heard her name announced as well in the categories of Song Of The Year, and Video Of The Year–both for her number-one smash hit “Burning House.” Cam admits that if you told her she would be announcing the nominations, and be nominated for two CMA Awards five years ago she probably wouldn’t have believed you, adding that the moment is very “surreal.” But she’s very much hoping that this is the “first chapter of many to come.”

audio  Cam reflects on the announcement and nominations from last week. (:41)
“It was really cool announcing on Good Morning America in between Keith Urban and Dierks Bentley, announcing the nominations for the CMA’s, and also on top of that, hearing my own name when they’re reading them out loud, I mean that’s crazy. If I talked to myself five years ago and said you’re going to be on television from the Opry in between Keith Urban and Dierks Bentley and they’re going to read your name as a nominee for the CMA’s I would never have believed you in a million years. It’s surreal, definitely, to be in this position and I’m so grateful for all the people that have listened to my music, and are supporting it and getting excited. Yeah hopefully this is the first chapter of many to come.”
