CAM: Connecting Anyway She Can

audio

Cam loves being up on stage singing her new single “Mayday.” She also loves connecting with her fans, but she admits that it’s hard sometimes while in concert to fully appreciate the moment when the crowd sings her music back to her, because she still has a job to do, and can’t get swept up in the moment. That why Cam heads to social media–she’ll look to her social networks to see what fans are doing with her music, what messages they are sending her, and she loves when fans take the time to reach out to her, and she thinks it’s actually a very personal way to connect with people. “While you’re performing you’re always trying to do a job so you’re trying not to stop mid song and really enjoy that. And I think the way that I get to enjoy that even more, which may sound cheesy, is threw twitter, and Facebook, and instagram, cause then while I have a moment I can read what people are saying about the song, what it means to them, quoting their favorite lyrics, seeing them in videos sing along or lip-sync and they’re, like they’re sending it to me, and I feel like that’s almost an even more personal way to have a moment with it because when I’m performing it I get to enjoy it just as applause but then I get like the details of what it really means to them through social media. I really appreciate those times, getting that feedback from everybody.”
