  • Nash Country Weekly recently shared its GRAMMY® predictions in the country categories, offering their picks for who “Should Win” and who “Will Win” — and while they may be leaning toward another nominee as their expected winner, they picked Cam’s “Burning House” as their “Should Win” choice for Best Country Solo Performance!

audio  Cam shares her feelings about her first GRAMMY Award nomination. (:19)
“I was super shocked when I got the call that I was nominated, and then, it really feels like an extra special moment because it’s other musicians that are saying we see the work you’re putting in, and we think it’s payin’ off. You know, we really think that was one of the standout songs this year, and that is a huge compliment.”

audio  GRAMMY nominee Cam and her mom got emotional over the inclusion of “Burning House” on this year’s GRAMMY compilation album. (:31)
“GRAMMY nominee CDs, the compilation CDs, we’ve been getting those my entire life. Like, every year, my mom gets them. So, I remember, like, getting them for my mom, and this year, my mom went and bought them, and like, my name’s on it, and my song is on it, and my mom and I are, like, near in tears and also just like, this is so weird. It’s just so weird — you see people on TV, there’s like a barrier it feels like. Me watching at home, and then there’s people on TV. And now it’s like, how did I get on TV? That is just super wild.”

audio  Cam is truly honored to be among the current GRAMMY and ACM Awards nominees. (:15)
“The GRAMMYs and the ACMs — just going is the most exciting part. And I know a lot of people say, ‘Oh, it doesn’t matter if I win or not,’ and then they have a real dark moment after they don’t win. I really, actually am just so honored to be a part of it.”
