CAM: A Big Day Is Coming…

audio

Singer/songwriter Cam may just go by her first name, but that name and her music have certainly been turning a lot of heads, with Cam among CMT’s newest picks for their “Next Women of Country” — and just a few days ago, Cam played a New Orleans benefit for the charities of actor Matthew McConaughey and New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees. And, later this month, Cam tells us she’s thrilled to be making her Grand Ole Opry debut on May 29th. (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

  • Cam is on the radio now with her debut single, titled “My Mistake,” from her four-song digital album, Welcome to Cam Country — EP. You can find it at your favorite digital music store, including iTunes.
  • The benefit that Cam played was in support of Matthew McConaughey’s just keep livin Foundation and Drew Brees’ Brees Dream Foundation.

Cam talks about making her Grand Ole Opry debut on May 29th.

“It’s gonna be a heavy moment, I think, in a spiritual sort of way. (laughs) It’s gonna be a little scary, but also just incredibly memorable.”

“The Opry: it is the home base, and it is the foundation, and it’s one of those places where you can physically go to feel like you are a part of the country community. And I think being invited to play there makes you feel like you’ve kind of been accepted.”

Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey, Cam, and New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees share a moment at the May 9th benefit where Cam performed in support of the just keep livin Foundation and The Drew Brees Foundation.
