Superstar duo Brooks & Dunn made a special appearance today during the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville to announce that the final show on their upcoming concert trek, The Last Rodeo Tour, will be Brooks & Dunn and Friends, a benefit concert for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.  Set to take place at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena (formerly the Sommet Center) on August 10, with special guests to be announced, the show will mark the concert culmination of the duo’s groundbreaking 20-year career. Kix and Ronnie have a tremendous appreciation for the Hall of Fame and for a while “have tossed around ideas for the best way to make a contribution to the Museum.” While the duo hinted at a possible superstar line-up of guests for the last show, exact details will be announced at a later date. “We’re gonna do a tour that we’re really excited about. And we wanted to go out and make sure we said goodbye to the people that have given us this wonderful ride and make sure anybody that wants to come party with us one last time would get the opportunity. And for several years, Ronnie and I have been tryin’ to figure out a way to do something cool for the Country Music Hall of Fame. We wanted to do something really special to give back, and as fate would have it, we are gonna do this Last Rodeo Tour, our final goodbye. So, really the announcement that we want to make today is our final show’s gonna be in Nashville, on August the 10th. And we’ve got some good friends that have been on tour with us over the years that are gonna come out and help us out, and that announcement’ll be made later, but all the money from that show — and we hope it’s gonna be a big blowout — we’re gonna donate to the Country Music Hall of Fame.”

“We’re really proud of the Hall of Fame and everything that it stands for. We think that it’s really cool that we have it here in Nashville and are very proud of the heritage that comes with it. Yeah, fun, man — make sure that you keep all these heirlooms in a nice shiny box.”

“It’s good that it’s gonna be in Nashville, and we’re gonna have all our friends backstage. There’ll be more people backstage than there will be out front probably, and that’s fine with us. We’ll just go out with a big party and have a cab take us home.”

  While there are not many details about the tour yet, Ronnie did reveal one thing fans can look forward to seeing. (:09)
“I know that there’s a drum set that showed up at rehearsal the other day. It has a mechanical steer head on it and blows smoke, and its eyes light up.”
