BROOKS & DUNN: Changing Times

Brooks & Dunn have an amazing double-CD on the way — it’s called #1s … and then some — packed with 23 number-one singles, and 30 songs in all, from throughout the duo’s career. But Kix and Ronnie say that things have changed a lot since the guys first started having hits with B&D classics like “Neon Moon” and “Hard Workin’ Man.” From buying digital singles and albums over the internet to discovering new music through outlets like YouTube or MySpace, Kix says, “It’s a rapidly changing world in terms of just music and how you’re gonna hear it and how you’re gonna get it and all those things. Nobody’s really sure where it’s gonna wind up.” But one constant that Ronnie and Kix see is that no matter how much things change, fans still love to get out and enjoy the live concert experience. • Look for #1s … and then some in stores September 8th! In addition to hit after hit — like “Believe,” “Cowgirls Don’t Cry” with Reba, and much, much more — the 30-song collection will have two new tracks, including B&D’s current smash single, “Indian Summer.”

BROOKS & DUNN: Changing Times  Brooks & Dunn talk about about getting music to the fans. (:45)
Kix
: “Everything’s changing. The internet is becoming a huge part of our lives from YouTube to MySpace to how you’re gonna get your songs, what you’re gonna buy, what music you’re gonna hear. All of those things. It’s a rapidly changing world in terms of just music and how you’re gonna hear it and how you’re gonna get it and all those things. Nobody’s really sure where it’s gonna wind up.”
Ronnie: “How it’s gonna get out there. You know, in the meantime, I think it’s as important as we can to take it as far as we can…”
Kix: “Yeah, to keep going out and performing and touring. Those are the constants that people…they know what that is. They know they can hopefully pay their money, go into a show, and they’re gonna get their money’s worth there.”
