BRAD PAISLEY: “Waitin’ On a Woman”…in Mayberry, RFD

Brad Paisley has released a new single — “Waitin’ On a Woman,” originally recorded for his Time Well Wasted CD, has been re-recorded and released to radio…and this new version will be added to future pressings of his current CD, 5th Gear. What’s more — Brad has shot a video for the song, with veteran actor Andy Griffith in the role of the elderly man who’s “waitin’ on a woman” in the song!

Brad’s appreciation for Andy Griffith goes way back. While he’s also a fan of such classic TV shows as Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica, The Andy Griffith Show has always had a special place in Brad’s heart. And he’s not alone — beginning in 1960 and over the course of nearly 250 episodes, the humor, characters, lifestyle and family values shared by the townspeople of Mayberry have endeared the show to generations, making Andy the perfect choice to star in the video.

But Brad’s bond with “Sheriff Andy Taylor” goes even deeper. Brad says the character was a great role model — not just for him growing up, but also in what he wants to share with his son, Huck. When he asked Andy to appear in the video, Brad told him that he was actually helping to raise his son. As he says, “You could do far worse than to use The Andy Griffith Show as a guide for the way to handle the issues that come up with your little boy.” (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

BRAD PAISLEY: “Waitin’ On a Woman”…in Mayberry, RFD  Brad Paisley explains that Andy Griffith is more than the perfect fit for the lead role in his new video for “Waitin’ on a Woman” — he’s a part of Brad’s life. (:45)
“He has influenced my life more than most people that I grew up with — and more than most people that I actually knew my whole life. I mean, his TV show, The Andy Griffith Show, was for me, just, without a doubt, one of the most influential things I have ever had in my life. I mean, it…it’s a big deal to me. I watch it. When I wrote an introductory letter to him, one of the things I said was that he’s helping to raise my son…and that’s a big deal. He really is. I mean, I think you could do far worse than to use The Andy Griffith Show as a guide for what, you know, the way to handle the issues that come up with your little boy.”
