BRAD PAISLEY: See It Now Before It’s Gone!

Brad Paisley‘s exhibit at the Country Music Hall Of Fame and Museum, Brad Paisley: Diary Of A Player, comes to a close next Sunday May 14th. The exhibition includes musical instruments, performance clothing, manuscripts, awards, photographs, childhood mementos (including early examples of Paisley’s talent for drawings and illustrations), and other items that shed light on Brad’s life and career. Artifacts celebrate Brad’s reputation as an inspired guitarist, who blends technical mastery with whimsical imagination. Items in the exhibit also illustrate his connections to many of his guitar heroes, including Chet Atkins, James Burton, Little Jimmy Dickens, John Jorgenson, Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones, and Don Rich of the Buckaroos. Country Music Hall Of Fame and Museum CEO Kyle Young is very happy that Brad gets involved with the Hall, “We’re so fortunate to be in this position, in general, and with Brad who has a real reverence for the past and history, we sort of know going in that he appreciates what we’re up too. And we appreciate that. For us to even know and to be involved with somebody like him who obviously cares about the history, and there for cares about what we’re doing is great.” So, while Brad Paisley sings “Last Time For Everything”–your last time to see his Diary Of A Player exhibit at the Country Music Hall Of Fame and Museum is Sunday May 14.

audio  Brad Paisley jokes about the introduction he got from Country Music Hall Of Fame and Museum CEO Kyle Young at the opening of his Diary Of A Player exhibit. (:30)
“Well…holy cow. I was like ‘Who’s this Brad Paisley guy? When did he die?’ That’s what I felt like looking at the exhibit the first time, it’s like ‘Well, we’re gonna miss him.’ It’s really weird to see things that should’ve meant nothing to anyone actually seem important when they’re put behind glass in the greatest music museum in the world.”

audio  Brad Paisley talks about some of the earliest equipment that he used to kick of his music career that is now displayed in his exhibit of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. (:23)
“There’s a box that has a Jamboree USA sticker on it, and a bunch of others…it looks like it’s traveled the world, it really only traveled to surrounding states. It was all I needed for a gig…was in this blue box, you’ll see it, and it was a cable and a cowboy hat, a couple of guitar pedals, and probably some chewing gun.”

audio  As he stood in the rotunda of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, Brad Paisley still can’t believe the road that his life has taken all because of a guitar given to him by his grandfather. (:45)
“It’s crazy when you look back and you see these things that…I remember the dreams associated with each little item as I look back. I see the first guitar, which is in this display, which is that Silvertone with the amp in the case, and my grandfather so excited to give me this used piece of his history as a Christmas gift…which was just cheap on his part. The idea that I would start playing that, and develop goals and dreams  that would lead me to stand in this circle today is crazy.”
