“I think the fact that they get to grow up in Nashville, Tennessee, is one of the greatest gifts I’ll ever give ’em, actually. Because it’s a safe and wonderful place to live and a town that is really…has it all. And then, on top of that, we spend some time in California, which is…you know, on its own, I couldn’t probably raise my family exclusively in California. I would feel like they were in some sort of strange fantasy land where there is no winter, and there’s just…and everybody has a sort of…I don’t know, it’s just a different kind of place. But being that it’s only part of the time, these are boys who grow up, you know, hillbillies in the woods, and then go out there and try things like sushi and play on the beach, you know? And that’s a well-roundedness that I think is a good thing for them. And I didn’t have that. I mean, I was the least well-rounded human being in the world by the time I moved to Nashville, but growin’ up with…exposed to all kinds is gonna be good for them.”
