BRAD PAISLEY: My Friend The President

audio

With President’s Day coming up on Monday, Brad Paisley can say that he’s good friends with one of the men who has served in the oval office, George H. W. Bush. Brad shares that “George H. W. has become a friend of mine. It’s interesting to look back at that, cause I was in high school when he was President, so it’s amazing to me that I’ve been to his house, and had lunch, and taken my kids there, and they’ve gotten to know him a little bit.” Brad has played for a couple of Presidents in his career during different functions in and out of the White House. Brad has even flown on Air Force One. So, when it comes to Presidents, and talking about his favorite, Brad goes right to number-16, Abraham Lincoln.

And it’s really wild to know that he ran the CIA at one point. As somebody who gets to know somebody like that, it’s one of those things you never forget.”

“Abraham Lincoln for me is the great emancipator, and what amazing guy he was. I also liked Truman. I think Truman was a really good example of a President that was underappreciated, he had the hardest decision of all…and seemed to be from all accounts, a pretty good guy too.”
