BRAD PAISLEY: Mini-Me

Brad Paisley is new in stores with his knockout eighth album, American Saturday Night, out just in time for a true celebration of America with the Fourth of July coming this Saturday! Lots of folks will be spending quality time with their families, and Brad enjoyed a little family time in the making of his album when he brought his two-year-old son, Huck, into the recording studio to put the finishing touch on the song “Anything Like Me.” Brad laughs that he ran into a little artistic resistance at first, but Huck warmed up fast. BRAD PAISLEY: Mini-Me  Brad Paisley says his new album features the talents of a special guest vocalist, his son Huck. (:39)
“I brought Huck into the studio. I just thought it would be an interesting thing to let him sing that last word, and that’s his second take that you hear there. And his first take, he was still figurin’ out what to do. You see, he knew the song because I’d sung it for him at home, and then I just told him, ‘I want you to sing “me.”‘ I said, ‘You ready to do this?’ He said, ‘I don’t want to.’ And I said, ‘Just try it…you’d probably like it.’ So he put on the headphones, and he started tappin’ his foot and listening to it, and it got to his thing, and he sang it. And then he wanted to do more than that, but (laughs) I said, ‘Nah, just the word’ll be fine.’ But yeah, it’s fun to…it’s a neat…you certainly don’t expect that…him to sing that word, I think.”
