Brad Paisley‘s brand new song “Without A Fight” has been lighting up country radio all weekend since it’s release on Friday. One of the things that has been helping fans fall in love with the song is Brad’s partner on the track–Demi Lovato. Brad says that the collaboration on “Without A Fight” came into being when Brad appeared on one of Demi’s songs during a recent award show. When Demi, who is a long time country fan, suggested that she and Brad work together again, Brad knew exactly what song to have Demi work on with him. And as it turns out, it wasn’t too hard to pitch the project, because Demi is also a huge fan of Brad Paisley, and was excited to sing with him.

“Demi is on this song because we ended up playing an award show together where I played the guitar on ‘Stone Cold.’ She has been a country fan for a long time, and she actually said she was a fan of mine and I believe it because you knew everything about me. I was like…wait, what? You’re a fan of mine?  And she said ‘we gotta do something else’ and I said ‘Well, I’ve got the right perfect song I think if you want to do it.’ Because this is something that needs a singer that can bring that gravitas to it, that fire that soul that she’s got. So, next thing you know, we were cutting his days later, we were in the studio together, and have become fast friends and it’s going to be fun to see where she pops up to sing this with me, and vice versa.”
