BRAD PAISLEY: A Message From Overseas

audio

Brad Paisley put the finishing touches on his brand new record this week! Brad describes pulling an “all-nighter” this past weekend to have Love and War ready to play for his record label this week. During those late night hours while working on his brand new music, a soldier serving overseas, emailed Brad to let him know that she heard “Today” on Armed Forces Radio, and it was helping her through the situation she was in. Brad was both humbled and blown-away by the email. As an artist he has heard stories of his music helping fans get through certain predicaments, but to hear this story really touched him. Brad wrote back to the soldier letting her know, that “as she’s writing the email, I’m mixing the album, and I turned it into my record label today and it’s called Love and War, serendipitously, it seems you have reminded me why I do what I do as well.” Brad’s song “Today” is helping a lot of people as it climbs its way up the chart to number-one, and his album Love and War is set for release on Friday April 21st.

audio  On Tuesday evening Brad Paisley shared a special message he received about his song “Today.” (1:22)
“I think the thing about the email I received today that just kills me is the timing and in life I have had  many situations where timing was everything. This is a great example of that. The first single ‘Today’ has been out now for I guess about four months or something, maybe. It’s hitting people in the ways I hoped it would. The irony though, I thought for sure that there would be some emails like the one I got today, but the difference being that I pulled an all-nighter on Sunday night, just a day ago, to get this in on time. To get it mastered, to get it finished. In the process, I got this email the very night that was happening. There is a woman, a soldier, serving who, while I am feverishly trying to get this record done called Love and War.  She’s using the first single off of it for the exact purpose I recorded that song, which is ‘hang on to those memories that get you through the rough times.’ I wrote her back and said that ‘as she’s writing the email, I’m mixing the album, and I turned it into my record label today and it’s called Love and War, serendipitously, it seems you have reminded me why I do what I do as well.’ I’m gonna work out meeting her somewhere out there when she gets back. I hope she stays safe.”
