ADAM DOLEAC: What’s up y’all? It’s Adam Doleac and the inspiration behind “Key To The City” is actually pretty simple. ESPN called and said they were looking for a new song for the College World Series. A couple of the guys looking for the song and heard some of my other music. I think they loved “Famous.” Then they found out that I actually played in the College World Series back in my college days. So they reached out and asked me to write one obviously I was super excited to do so. The only thing they told me was something that reminded me of walking into Omaha Rosenblatt Stadium, opening ceremonies, to really capture that excitement. The thrill of that night. It’s a memory that really sticks out to me so it wasn’t that hard to do. And, I think we did a key to the city is what we came up with. I hope it makes you feel excited. It gets you that that rush that want to leave the house, go to a game, your favorite sports moment, go to a bar, whatever it is, it gets me hyped. It’s definitely the most hype song and I’ve put out I can’t wait to play it on the road this summer. And hope you guys love it too.

Arista Nashville rising star Adam Doleac dropped new song “Key to the City” today. The song will be used for programming and promotion for ESPN’s coverage of the 2021 NCAA Men’s College World Series. Listen here.

“Key to the City” was penned by Doleac, Casey Brown and Jesse Lee Levin in 2019 for the College World Series that year (watch clip here).

Doleac played college baseball at Southern Miss, which is where he also wrote songs with his teammates and taught himself to play guitar. The baseball player turned singer-songwriter competed with his team in the 2009 College World Series.

“Getting the opportunity to write ‘Key to the City’ for ESPN and the College World Series was so fun,” said Doleac. “As a former college baseball player, and one that got to play in the CWS myself, this was such a cool baseball/music moment for me. This song embodies the energy I felt walking into the stadium, and it’s the same kind of energy I feel walking on stage every night.”

Tune in to ESPN beginning Saturday, June 19 to catch the 2021 College World Series and to hear “Key to the City” throughout the telecasts.

With more than 165 million cumulative streams across his catalog to date, Doleac continues to share new music and content with fans this year. Inspired by his critically acclaimed song “Whiskey’s Fine,” Doleac launched his “Come On In, The Whiskey’s Fine” series this spring, where he sits down with some of his favorite artists in an airstream trailer for a chat over whiskey cocktails. So far, the series has featured labelmates Niko MoonMatt Stell, and Mitchell Tenpenny. The next episode arrives Tuesday, June 15.

Doleac will be hitting the road this summer and fall for long-awaited shows across the country, including appearances on select dates of Zac Brown Band’s The Comeback Tour. For more information on upcoming tour dates and tickets, visit AdamDoleac.com. JUN 25Cadott, WICadott Country Fest 2021JUN 26Fairbank, IAIsland ParkJUL 3Baldwin City, KSBaldwin Golf CourseJUL 9Peoria, ILCrusensJUL 10West Salem, WICountry Boom 2021JUL 16Belmont, OHValleyview CampgroundsJUL 26York, PAYork Fair GrandstandJUL 30Cheyenne, WYOutlaw SaloonJUL 31Dodge City, KSUnited Wireless Arena & Boot Hill Casino & Resort Conference CenterAUG 5McHenry, MDGarrett County FairgroundAUG 14New London, OHNew London Reservoir CampgroundSEP 2Wantagh, NYZac Brown Band – The Comeback TourSEP 3Wantagh, NYZac Brown Band – The Comeback TourSEP 5Darien Center, NYZac Brown Band – The Comeback TourSEP 17Englewood, COZac Brown Band – The Comeback TourSEP 18Englewood, COZac Brown Band – The Comeback TourSEP 30Clarkston, MIZac Brown Band – The Comeback TourOCT 3Saratoga Springs, NYZac Brown Band – The Comeback Tour

Doleac’s music has been described by Rolling Stone as “anchored not only in the trends of Top 40 radio, but also the blue-collar grit of Bob Seger and the bluesy influence of his Mississippi hometown.”
