BROOKS & DUNN ANNOUNCE REBOOT II
Brooks & Dunn have officially announced their latest project “REBOOT II” coming out November 15. The album is set to feature 18 reimagined songs with 18 artists coming together to reinvent time-tested classics. Each artist was given a near-impossible task by Brooks & Dunn themselves: Take iconic hits like “Neon Moon” and “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” and treat them as if they were demos, reimagining the song to fit your own taste and style. Oh, and also do it while a pair of legends watch from the control room. What came out is not a traditional tribute album – in fact it’s the exact opposite, a clear refusal to put these songs under glass in the museum of country history. Instead, it shows just how alive Brooks & Dunn’s influence is across today’s musical scene … and how versatile their songwriting really was.
“For this one, we purposely loosened the screws and turned ‘em loose to do whatever they wanted,” Dunn explains. “We actually went way off the rails, in a good way.”
“This project is a lot more out of bounds,” Brooks agrees. “People were going, ‘Would it be okay if we did this?’ It was like ‘Yeah! Let’s do it.’ We dealt with rock bands and blues bands and all kind of genres, all over the place.”
