OLD DOMINION GETS THE EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME WITH BLUE ANGELS (AUDIO)
Matthew: Really of, or most men our age for sure who grew up watching Top Gun for sure. But yeah, I mean super, you know I guess you could, pun intended rare air right?
Brad: Yeah very rare
Matthew: Nobody gets to do what we did, a very few people get to do what we did which was, actually I think we were the first full band to ever be taking taken up with the Blue Angles
Geoff: That’s what they said, yeah.
Matthew: So there’s individuals that have been able to do it but we went to Pensacola, Florida and met up with those guys. And they you know, they treated us like gold at first and then took us up in those jets, man. And it was an absolutely amazing experience. It was like at first people were like, “How fun was that?” And at first I was like, “I don’t know if funs the word?” It was like an exciting and demanding and an experience that we’ll never forget. Now I look back at it and it was like fun memories.
Trevor: Sure, sure. Yeah, that was amazing. And they incorporate one of our songs into their air show.
Matthew: Ya, absolutely.
Trevor: It’s called American style so that’s an honor as well.
Matthew: Yeah and we got to go faster than the speed of sound, which was really amazing. That’s one of the still one of the coolest sentences anyone’s ever said to me is “my friend you are supersonic.” That’s a cool line.
Trevor: I say that to you all the time.
Matthew: Yeah, well, coming from a Blue Angels pilots much cooler.
Trevor: Yeah.
Brad: So thanks, we just want to thank those guys for you know, something we’ll never forget.
