“This is a project I’ve always wanted to do but never thought the timing would work,” said Hurd. “I hope everyone loves these versions because I’m so grateful I get to share them.”
Featuring an acoustic version of his latest single “Every Other Memory,” EOM EP shines a spotlight on Hurd’s singular, distinctive songwriting. The project showcases new takes on his co-penned hits such as double-Platinum “Heartless” (Diplo ft. Morgan Wallen), Platinum No. 1 “What If I Never Get Over You” (Lady A), Gold No. 1 “Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset” (Luke Bryan), and “Payback” (Rascal Flatts), which features The Cadillac Three. Other standout tracks include his critically-lauded cover of Taylor Swift’s “False God” and a live performance of “Wish for the World” from Hurd’s sold-out show at Nashville’s Cannery Ballroom.
The follow-up to his Gold-certified Top 20 hit “To A T,” “Every Other Memory” has earned high praise from critics, with TIME observing “it’s a heady hit of mid-tempo nostalgia for the little moments that we would normally take for granted.” Similarly, The Boot praises “a marching clip of country nostalgia that shows off the songwriter’s gift for puzzle-piecing together the right words at the right time, in time,” while Country Now proclaims “with its expertly crafted lyrics and relatable storyline, ‘Every Other Memory’ has the potential to be Hurd’s biggest hit yet.” Hurd co-wrote the track with Nathan Spicer and Cole Taylor.
