Old Dominion’s Brad Tursi on the origins of “New York at Midnight Remix” (Audio)
Brad Tursi of Old Dominion shares on the origin of remix version of “New York at Midnight Remix”:
“The New York at Midnight Remix kind of came about I think because of the original demo track that Jordan Schmidt, who was a writer and the producer of the demo. Trevor and I were like play us something that you think we would never dig- you know, something that’s way outside the box. So, he played us kind of some of the beginning of that track and we were like, ‘Yes! That’s cool!’ So, the song kind of started out as more of a dance-y sort of vide anyway and then when we recorded it in the studio as Old Dominion we kind of made it more of a rock thing. I think it came out great. No one the band is dancing to it though- not because it’s not dance-able, but because, you know, no one would want to embarrass themselves like that. But, yeah. I’m excited to have it out and hopefully people dig it.”
The New York at Midnight Remix is available now!
