Album release day is finally here! Tim McGraw & Faith Hill’s first ever album together ‘The Rest Of Our Life’ is in stores and online now! Several aspects of Tim & Faith’s life are lyrically covered in this album creating an open book feeling in which listeners can relate to. Tim shares, “For us and for me, I wanted people to have a visceral and emotional reaction to every song on this album… and then after you’ve listened to it, for it to have a complete visceral and emotional impact on you in context, and I think that this album does that. It tells a story, its got the ups and downs of a relationship, its got the happiness and sadness of a relationship, and its got the fighting and the making up of a relationship, and I think that if you can find a way to listen to this album and apply it… or not apply it but relate to it in your life somehow, that’s when music is at its best.” Tim also says that not only is this a special album lyrically, but they spent a lot of time thinking about the sonic elements in the music to achieve a certain feel, “You want to do something that is original but still has a classic sound to it and fresh but isn’t trendy and that is what we set out to do and I think that that’s what this record sounds like to me, I think that there’s some real freshness in it but there’s also the stuff that makes you think of 70’s sort of music in there.” After all, the reason for why Tim & Faith have stayed so successful in the music industry is because of their ability to create an active relationship with the listener, and to leave a lasting impact, “I think it’s a humbling feeling to know that your music has marked times in people’s lives and I always… and we both we don’t take that for granted. I think that when I’m performing live and I’m doing certain songs, and I know that it has had an effect on people’s life or it’s been a part of somebody’s life, ‘Live Like You Were Dying’ for instance, when you know people have gone through some terrible times in their life with that song being a part of it, I always feel like that it’s not my song and I’m just sort of a conduit and a vessel for it and I feel fortunate to have had it and I feel fortunate that these people let me into their life.”

Tim: “You want to do something that is original but still has a classic sound to it and fresh but isn’t trendy and that is what we set out to do and I think that that’s what this record sounds like to me, I think that there’s some real freshness in it but there’s also the stuff that makes you think of 70’s sort of music in there and I mean personally I love the songs that Faith’s taking a lead on and I get to sing harmony with her on I mean cause she’s the only person I can really sing harmony with,
Faith: “that’s not true”
Tim: “I’m not much of a harmony singer but with her I can find a spot and it’s always fun to sing with her and its challenging to sing with her too because she is such a great singer.”
