Dolly Parton‘s brand new album I Believe In You is available online right now! While the album arrives in stores in a couple of weeks, fans can get Dolly’s very first collection of music geared towards children and those young at heart today! After a legendary career, Dolly sees the fun in still being able to have “firsts” in her music career, “I know! Isn’t that amazing that I’ve never had a kids album…and you know, it’s about time. I really just wanted to put together the songs that we write for the Imagination library, and then all of a sudden we thought, ‘well, I’ll add a few more extra songs. A few things to it, and just go ahead and put it out.’ So, I didn’t have a tour coming up, and I wasn’t planning a big musical album, so I thought this is the perfect timing for it.” Dolly jokes that now is the perfect time to release a children’s album, because she’s going through her second childhood, “I don’t know why, it’s just those things get in the way where your career goes, you’re gonna do a tour and have a real record for the radio to play and all that. So, it’s just one of those things that we do all this stuff for the kids and I write songs for the little playhouse up there (Dollywood) so I’ve been doing it for years we just never had done it and it just seemed like it was the time since I’m getting so old I’m going back into my seconds childhood. So (laughs) I thought, ‘Yeah we’ll do it now where I can still remember it.’”
