Flashback to the September 2002, when Brad Paisley headed out on his first major headlining tour.
While he may be one of the biggest touring artists in country music these days, back in 2002, Brad Paisley headed out for the first time as the headliner. On September 19th at the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix, Arizona Brad Paisley kicked off his first headlining tour, sponsored by CMT. As his success grew, his ability to do what he wanted to do on tour grew as well. Brad shared “Touring has become another playground for me in the sense that it’s another piece of the Disneyland puzzle for me. It’s Disneyland. You know, we get all the toys we want in terms of the production.” But Brad jokes about the real reason you work hard to be a headliner of your own tour, “we now have our own catering, which is a big deal because, boy, was it…it was not edible for a long time because we were just…it was pot luck per city. It was like, you know, you’d go into a building, and the civic arena would have its own caterer, and all of them think…they all thought they were original with chicken and ravioli. It’s like, every day, geez, how much more can we eat of that? And bad chicken and ravioli…it wasn’t even good…so that’s fun.”
The concert production…and the catering…have only gotten better over the years, and in 2017 Brad has been out on the road all summer long with his Weekend Warrior World Tour. Fans’ last chance to see Brad sing his hit songs “Last Time For Everything” and “Today” on this tour is coming up, as it wraps up Sunday September 24th in Maryland Heights, Missouri.
