Tuesday night Chris Young will not only play the Grand Ole Opry, but Vince Gill will be there as well to celebrate their number-one song “Sober Saturday Night”–and Chris wouldn’t want it any other way, “This is kind of the cap on it, right?” Well before they teamed up for the number-one song from Chris Young’s album, I’m Comin’ Over, Chris recalls being a fan of Vince’s from an early age, “it started as me as a kid seeing him perform…I hate to put too much into one song, but this might not be the biggest song of my career, but it was one of the biggest moments for me because I’m such a huge fan, and that’s somebody I grew up watching on stage and being like ‘I want to do what that guy does.’.” After reaching out to Vince, and getting him to sing on the track, and it going all the way to number-one, Chris now thinks a night at the Opry, with Vince, is the perfect way to celebrate “Sober Saturday Night,”Getting him on the song, getting a chance to play it places, then watching it…really take a while to get up the chart, but finally get to number-one…this is the cap for that. Being able to celebrate, and look and be like ‘Oh, there’s Vince Gill. And he’s on this song.’ That’s always going to be something that is a special moment to me. Even more so, just not only did the song go number-one, but we got to celebrate it together. That it was at the Opry. This cool moment, it’s a cool place, and I don’t know that there’s a better way to celebrate than like that.” We’re sure along with “Sober Saturday Night” then Opry crowd will be treated to Chris Young’s latest single “Losing Sleep”–which thanks to Chris announcing the news last week, we now know that it is the title track of his new album coming out on October 20th!
