Brad Paisley first Netflix comedy special hits the streaming service this Tuesday, August 15th. Brad, who is known for his musical sense of humor, shares the story of how Brad Paisley’s Comedy Rodeo, happened, “I’ve been hosting this stand up comedy night at this Nashville comedy festival every year, for the last few years, and Netflix approached us to film it. It’s really been fun to…sort of come up with some bits, and incorporate a bunch of stand up comedians that I think really fit my audience, honestly. So, it’s really going to be fun to see all that in a one hour special that we taped.” Along with Brad, the special also features comedians Nate Bargatze, John Heffron, Jon Reep, Sarah Tiana and Mike E. Winfield. Actor David Hasselhoff and multi-talented Reba McEntire make special appearances. Brad also shares a bit of what he’ll do during the special, “I’m the first of the sort of comedians that goes in the special. I do maybe 15 minutes. I’ve written several songs over the years that kind of exist to be funny, and then I just sort of riff up there, and kind of goof around with the audience and it is a really fun thing to do for a guy like me because I write so often from this perspective of trying to write something that’ll make you laugh…and I really like the idea that you sort of take off any sort of shackles or handcuffs when it comes to what you’re allowed to get away with in country music, you get away with a little bit more in a comedy special. When people go to a comedy club, which is where we taped it…at Zanies in Nashville…they go in there expecting to laugh, so really nothing is off limits, which is kind of fun.” Brad Paisley’s Comedy Rodeo arrives on Netflix this Tuesday August 15th! Brad Paisley is a busy guy…he’s out on the road singing his new single “Last Time For Everything” on his Weekend Warrior World Tour, he’s getting ready for the special to come out, he’s busy designing guitars for Fender, he’s getting kids ready to go back to school…so he had to check in with us over the phone. So, please note, these soundbites are phone quality…content is high quality…but the sound is phone quality. Thank you for your understanding.
