OLD DOMINION: There Is Such Thing As A Sasquatch

Fans are loving Old Dominion’s new single, “No Such Thing As A Broken Heart,” but, many are asking “why is there a Sasquatch on the cover of the song?” Well, wonder no more. Trevor Rosen of Old Dominion tells us just how Sasquatch left a footprint on their music forever. “Our manager hit us up and he said ‘we need the single artwork like today. We have to turn it in.’ And we were like, ‘Man not much notice’.” The guys didn’t want to just submit a photo of themselves on this new project, so Trevor stepped up and temporarily traded his musical skills for some drawing skills, “I said, ‘I got this, I got this. I grabbed a napkin and a sharpie and I drew the Sasquatch with a broken heart”. Trevor shares how Old Dominion lead singer Matt Ramsey found the drawing and instantly knew they band found their “art,” “Matt came walking off the bus holding it and he goes, ‘I get it.. Sasquatch… no such thing…’ he says, I actually think this is awesome, I want to use this’.” The drawing was filled out a little more by Matthew’s tattoo girl, and thus the broken hearted Sasquatch was born. audio  Trevor from Old Dominion shares the story of how the Sasquatch became the symbol for their new song “No Such Thing As A Broken Heart.” (:57)
“We were actually out on the road, I guess, a few months ago now and Will, our manager, hit us up and he said “we need the single artwork like today. We have to turn it in.” And we were like, ‘Man, not much notice.’ And he said ‘do you just want to use a picture of you guys?’ And we said, ‘No, No.’ And I said, ‘I got this.’ For ‘Song For Another Time,’ I sort of jokingly drew on this napkin this song for another time thing, this t shirt idea and it was really bad and everyone laughed. So this time I said, ‘I got this, I got this.’ I was kind of kidding. I grabbed a napkin and a sharpie and I drew the Sasquatch with a broken heart and I kind of set it on the bus and I didn’t say anything about it and then Matt (Ramsey) came walking off the bus holding it and he goes, ‘I get it.. Sasquatch… no such thing…’ he says, ‘I actually think this is awesome, I want to use this’ And so we were laughing and he had his tattoo girl do a little bit better version of it and so that ended up being the single artwork.” (laugh)
