If you haven’t seen Maren Morris in the last few weeks, you might do a double take at her new hair-do. Maren has her summer cut on, and she’s explaining why she chopped off her long locks, “I just don’t want to have it on my neck for the summer….and now my hair takes 10 minutes even if I want it to look good. Its super low maintenance which is nice.” Of course before she made the dramatic change, she had to inform her former hairdresser…who also just happens to be her mom. When Maren moved from Texas to Nashville she had to find a new person to handle her hair, but she still kept mom in the loop, ” I had told her about it months ago. I was like ‘I don’t know when I’m going to do this but I really want to cut my hair off.” We’re sure her mom loves the new look just as much as fans do…and that summer tour Maren mentioned, just happens to be the 15 In A 30 tour with Sam Hunt and Chris Janson. “I told her about it but she…I think when I moved to Nashville it was sort of this understanding that she wasn’t going to be my hairdresser anymore. It was like ‘I’m sorry Mom, I’m going to have to find someone else’ but I had told her about it months ago. I was like ‘I don’t know when I’m going to do this but I really want to cut my hair off because I’m about to go into this summer tour and I’ve had this long hair since the Grammy’s and I just don’t want to have it on my neck for the summer. So I was like ‘I used to have short hair, I’ll just cut it off. I don’t want to spend an hour doing it anymore.’ And now my hair takes 10 minutes even if I want it to look good. Its super low maintenance which is nice.”
