Old Dominion lead singer Matthew Ramsey shared the secret behind the writing of their new single “There’s No Such Thing As A Broken Heart.” And the big secret is…there’s no secret. In fact the guys weren’t even really sure what they had going on until they got into writing in. Matthew says “We weren’t writing towards a title, or anything, we were just kind of free writing. We knew we were onto something, and we had no clue what yet, and I think we were writing the chorus before we even knew what the song was called.” But between band mates Brad Tursi adding a line, and Trevor Rosen coming up with the line that would become the title, it was a group effort in creating their brand new hit. If there is a secret to be shared, Matthew thinks it’s just to take it one step at a time, “It was kind of one of those things where, I said the first line, and then that leads to the next line, and that leads to the next line, then we’re in the chorus, and Brad’s says ‘you can’t keep the ground from shaking.’ And we’re like ‘no you can’t’ and then Trevor says ‘you gotta love like there’s no such thing as a broken heart.’ and we all went ‘oh, that’s the whole song right there’.” “No Such Thing As A Broken Heart” is on country radio right now, and the guys are on the road, so if you want to check them out, head to Old Dominion Band dot com, or just click right HERE
