Kane Brown‘s new single “What Ifs” came from a songwriting session where Kane and his fellow songwriters started asking “what if” questions when it came to relationships. Kane shares “in relationships there’s always these questions asking ‘what if this? what if that?,’ we decided to make it into a song.” When “What Ifs” was written, Kane knew one more touch the song needed to be complete, “It felt like a really good duet opportunity and I’ve always wanted my friend Lauren Alaina on it.” Kane will be on the road this month with Jason Aldean singing his song “What Ifs” to audiences all over the country.

“We didn’t really know what we were going to write that day. We just came up with ‘What Ifs’ asking about in relationships there’s always these questions asking ‘what if this? what if that?,’ we decided to make it into a song. It felt like a really good duet opportunity and I’ve always wanted my friend Lauren Alaina on it because we went to school together and we were in choir together and she’s the one that convinced me into singing. She’s really what motivated me to sing, coming in second on America Idol. It’s my most asked about song on the album.”
