The success story of Chris Young‘s “Think Of You” continues with an ACM nomination for Vocal Event Of The Year. Chris and Cassadee Pope’s duet has been an instant success for the pair, with various nominations and hitting number-one on the song charts, so it’s hard to believe that they never sung together before this huge hit. Chris says “the best part about it was we’d never sung anything together before she showed up. Like, I sent her the song, said, ‘Do you like the song?’ She goes, ‘Yes!’ ‘I love the song,’ it was like, ‘I’d love for you to be on it.’” Since then, everyone has been thinking of “Think Of You” as one of the best songs around. At the ACM Awards Chris has a shot to walk away with two trophies, as the Vocal Event Of The Year category awards artist and producer, which applies to Chris as “Think Of You” is from his album I’m Comin’ Over which Chris was a co-producer on. The 52nd Annual ACM Awards air live from Las Vegas on Sunday April 2nd on CBS TV.

“I think the one thing that was really cool is we actually cut this in the studio, together. Really, the best part about it was we’d never sung anything together before she showed up. Like, I sent her the song, said, ‘Do you like the song?’ She goes, ‘Yes!’ ‘I love the song,’ it was like, ‘I’d love for you to be on it.’ She said, ‘Okay,’ came in, and we had no idea if our voices were gonna really blend together well or not — and luckily they did, and it’s one of my favorite tracks on the record.”
