Maren Morris will tell you that family is very important to her–in fact this past Sunday at the Grammy Awards she took her mom as her date. With her parents being supportive of her career right from the beginning, it was a special moment for Maren to have her mom there to watch her win her first Grammy award. Maren says that she does try to update her parents with every bit of exciting news of her career, but lately there’s so many updates that she’d be calling them everyday. So, to save on the calls, Maren and her parents, and her sister, have a standing communications appointment every weekend. Maren shares “We have our Sunday morning Facetime ritual because they’re still in Texas and they own a business down there, but they’re just so ecstatic at everything that happened. It’s just a dream come true for them too, because they really have been a part of it from day one.”

“Anytime I call home, or…I’m on this long group thread with my mom and dad and sister because you know trying to call them every time good news comes then it would just be impossible, because, I mean it sounds so crazy but there is so much to be said now.
